The History of UpTop Treats
The Family Business Takes Off
In 2015, Lori Rayl founded Mile High Overstock LLC with the help of her children, Parker Rayl and Abby Miller. Together, they transformed a small overstock business into a thriving online venture. By 2016, the focus shifted to online platforms like eBay and Amazon. They learned the ins and outs of a successful e-commerce business.
Entering the Candy Market
Lori and her team ventured into the candy market with the launch of 'UpTop Treats.' Initially a repackaging business, UpTop Treats quickly grew into a small manufacturing and co-packing operation, signaling the beginning of a new chapter for the company.
Scaling with Strategy
In 2024, UpTop Treats continued to scale its candy production. A key milestone was a strategic partnership with a large commercial freeze dryer. This partnership allowed the business to expand operations efficiently without needing additional investments in freeze-drying equipment or labor, cementing UpTop Treats as a growing player in the industry.

Lori Rayl
Lori, with a Bachelor’s in Business and a Master’s in Business Education, has over 17 years of experience in education and business. Her entrepreneurial spirit drives the vision of UpTop Treats.
Abby Miller
Abby, a West Point graduate and decorated military officer, served in Afghanistan before transitioning into business. Her leadership and logistics skills play a vital role in UpTop Treats’ operational success.
Parker Rayl
Parker, with a background in microbiology and medical training, pivoted to the world of business and e-commerce. He now leads the marketing and advertising efforts, keeping UpTop Treats ahead of the curve.
Our Beloved Mascot
Meet Princeton
Our beloved brand mascot, Princeton, is a pika — a cute woodland critter that spends his days foraging for scrumptious treats high UpTop in the Rocky Mountains of North America. While hiking above the treeline, you may hear Princeton singing as Pika make their colony dens along high-elevation, western American slopes.
